Coding, Golfing and Twilla's Birthday 9th June 2002 in Calgary, Canada


Last Wednesday I got to sleep in, that being the only day that week that I had off. I wrote code from the morning into the early afternoon. I then took the rest of the afternoon off to head down to the driving range. I got to try out one of my Dad"s Titanium drivers. Normally I can hit the ball straight about 250 yards, with this club I was knocking them 300+ yards, I wasn"t quite sure how far the balls were going because the back of the range is at 300 yards and my balls were hitting the power station behind the driving range.

Afterward I headed back for an afternoon siesta. Around 6pm Twilla rang me up and invited me over to celebrate her birthday. Twilla, her 2 flat mates and I had a wicked time. We went down to the Reservoir and sat over a cliff edge for a while looking out at the beautiful view, afterward we climbed down to the water. Twilla scooped some water into a glass and watered a tree she had planted earlier this year.

Afterward she showed me where she goes to meditate. It"s a secluded patch further up the mountain. The entire patch of land has one type of plant except for the exact position where she sits when she meditates. That patch has a different type of plant; it"s a purple colour when the rest of the land is green. She told me it had changed after she had started meditating there and her energy has changed the plant type.

After that we headed back to her flat and hung out for the evening. After her flat mates went to bed, we got their laptop out and started going through it. She told me she was impressed by my 13373 4@x0r skillz. Her flat mate had a few dodgy videos on there. As we went through them she said "awe christ that would hurt", it"s a good thing she hadn"t seen my collection.

I then gave Twilla a birthday gift from myself, my autobiography of my time in the UK. We sat on the sofa, ate some pasta she made and I read inserts from my book for the rest of the evening. It was a really nice day and a briliant night.
