Spending time with Twilla and the return to the UK 1st August 2002 in Calgary, Canada

Today I went and booked my hostel. I initially asked for an 8-person bedroom which was 220 pounds a month, they didn"t have any they only had a 6-person room at 240 pounds for the month. I agreed and gave my details. The girl then came back on the line and said because it"s the high season it would be 300 quid. I was angry but that"s still cheap for central London.

Afterward I met up with Twilla and went downtown. We went to Mountain Equipment Co to see if we could climb the wall. They said that we could between 5pm - 7pm later in the day. So we headed down to the library to use the internet. On the way there I got hit by a man in a motorized wheelchair. He didn"t even say sorry or anything. I felt like rolling up on that fool and jacking him for his ride but I decided not too. As we got on the train, there was a drunken and badly bruised Native that decided to fight anyone trying to get on. He finally got into a struggle with some guy that got a hold of his crutch long enough to get him away from the door so that the train could drive off.

We got to the library and the only terminal that was free had Windows in Korean and the network connection didn"t work. We fancied playing a game of chess but unfortunately they didn"t have any chess boards around.

So we went down to TD Square and shopped around for some glasses for Twilla and then headed to Devotion Gardens. There we got to pet the fish and play around in the water.

Afterward we got some really good tasting greek food. As we ate it outside there was a really cold wind coming on. It was at that point that I informed Twilla that I was an officer with Canada Customs and Immigration and that she was under arrest for Peanut Smuggling. I was about to hand cuff her and collect the evidence but that would just look dodgy.

From there we headed back to Mountain Equipment Co where we climbed the climbing wall. We both made it up in about a minute or so but I was too tired from not using my legs that I couldn"t get the rope strapped back to the wall on the way down. Still it was a great experience and I think I"m going to continue in the sport.

All in all it was another great day hanging out with Twilla. I"m glad we"ve become such good friends. She"s really helped me grow in the last 3 months.
