Eating out in Handewitt, Voting, Denmark and 200KM/h+ on the AutoBahn

Handewitt, Germany

Last night, Rainer my new boss, his wife, Anja and I went out to a greek restaurant to celebrate the good news. The food was briliant and I had a really cool time with them. We ended up back at to his house and had a few drinks and listen to some Afroman and some other German CD's. Around 12:30am, Anja had to pick up her brother from a Dance so Rainer lent us the Keys to his Audi QUattro. We got the car up to 200KM/h+ on the AutoBahn. I couldn't believe how fast everything flew past us. Plus it had a 7 inch LCD in the car with realtime navigation so I could see, with the help of a GPS system, exactly where we were. We got Anja's brother and headed back, we all hung around chatting a drinking until about 2:30am.

This morning I woke up at 7:30am, today Germany had elections, Anja invited me to come watch her vote count along with the other 80 million votes, I was too tired so I didn't go. She came back a while later and we headed down to Bremen to check out a new flat. We took the Deutsche Bahn down to Breman which took all day, we got to go through Neumünster and Hamburg to get there and back. The flat is central and it's being renivated, I will probably move in next weekend. I'm hoping to get high speed internet so I can telecommute from home. I also found a briliant greek restaurant down the street from were I live too.

When we got back to Flensburg we got into Anja's Mercedes and drove into Southern Jyttland, Denmark. The streets were filled with Sex shops and stores that sold various pork products. It was late so I couldn't complete the tour with some Lego shops. Anja and I went into a take away and ordered 2 hot dogs and a slurpee in Danish/English and German.

Anja: Hej, jeg vil gerne have to hotdog og en kop slush is. (Danish)
Girl in Shop: What would you like on your hotdogs? This topping? (English)
Me: Nein (German)
Girl in Shop: This one? (English)
Me: Ja (German)
Me: Do you take pounds? (English)
Girl in Shop: No (English)
Me: Euro? (English)
Girl in Shop: Ja (German)
Anja: Mange tak (Danish)
Girl in Shop: Det var so lidt (Danish)
Me: Danke, Tschüß? (German)

Tomorrow I have to get my work permit sorted. I can't wait to move into my flat and begin working.
