Pics from Germany. Christmas in Deutschland. Nein slimmer!! 21st December 2002 in Bremen, Germany

Here is what I"ve been eating lately and here is what the background on my laptop looks like.

Thursday I headed down to my companies office in Hannover, transport is on the company bill so I took a ICE there. This train was soo nice, it"s spotless, English is spoken in all messages, the chairs are huge, the train drives at 160 KM/h, I could go on and go, it was so nice. Eurostar uses the same type of train but it"s no where near as posh. I forgot they have Weinachtmarkts in almost every city this time of year here in Germany or I would of insisted on an open ended ticket. The ticket people think (awe shit, I hope I got the under 26 discount) that the cash comes out of my pocket so they always search for best price instead of what I want. I spent the day at the office in product testing sessions with a co-worker, I have 6 pages worth of bug fixes and features to implement.

Afterword we had a company meeting and a gift exchanging session, all the employees got two bottles of Italian Wine and the owners got some clothing, books on wine, ect... We had a nice dinner and then the owners talked to each employee individually about their performance, ect... While I was waiting I helped out a co-worker with an Oracle to MySQL migration. Unfortunately we hardly tapped the bubbly before I had to take off. As I headed through the town to the Hauptbahnof I was regretting the time on my ticket, I would of really liked to have gotten smashes at the Weinachtsmarkt, it looked so nice. I was pretty tired on the trip home, between monday and Thursday I worked 42 hours with about 13 hours being done wednesday into Thursday morning doing loads of bug fixes and feature implementation in preparation for the product testing.

I woke up this morning, looked to see what was on TV, A skiing competition, which isn"t the same when you don"t have satellite for a good picture and Ghostbusters dubbed in German, I never thought I would see slimmer say anything like "Oh Nein!!".

I"ve been tuning my skills on the Boeing 777 with a simulator. Here are some screen shots:

I"m heading up to Schafflund tomorrow, spending Christmas with Anja"s family and on boxing day we are driving through Denmark and catching a ferry over to Sweden. Anja and I were going to Drive her Dad from Sweden into Oslo to catch a plane back to Germany on the 30th but it looks like the airfare is a bit too much (plus he would have to connect through London). Hopefully I get a chance to go to Norway, I figure something out. Here is a map of where I will be staying. I don"t know the exact location so I highlighted the area in Red.
