Holidays? Nein Auslander! Why am I here? I need my own firm
Schafflund, Germany
I"m trying to figure out my Summer Holidays. I know it"s really early but tickets are cheap when you buy them sooner rather than later. I was in Sydney in May 2001 and from there I was in USA/Canada and Europe. Now I want to go from Germany back to Sydney via Asia to complete my circumnavigation of the Earth. (I say Germany because it seems like I never stay in one city for more than 4 days at a time).
I know about Australia but I know nothing about Asia so I started doing some research. Out of all the countries that I researched a found 3 were I"m least likely to encounter one of the following: Landmines, 8 year old prostitutes trying to steal my wallet, Terrorists, Kid-Nappers, Rebel/Border conflicts, Civil War, the list goes on....
I know the world isn"t a safe place and it"s gotten worse over the last few years but if I assume that I only live once and to never see as many places as posible would make life a waste. If I was to always fear what is on the other side I probably would of never had left Calgary. That being said, I would prefer not to spend my holidays hanging out with BBC/CNN news crews watching them work in the field. So I found the following, I"m probably going to adjust it as time draws closer.

The one other thing is that June - August is Winter for Australia, I know Winter down under isn"t like Winter in say, Calgary, but I still would want to spend as much time as posible surfing and sleeping on beaches. I"m not sure if taking Vacation earlier or later would be good either, earlier: I"m broke right now and will be for a while; later: I might be needed at work, I have no idea when is convient to take time off. My contract is really vegue on the subject, all it says is that there is a Month of holidays and weekends aren"t counted in the Month. A Month is a little vague because July is a month with 31 days and Feburary is a month with 28 days but the weekends not included leaves me to believe I have 31 working days off (6 weeks and 1 day).
6 weeks to explore Asia and enjoy Australia would be wicked, that would be a dream come true. Once I complete circumnavigation I"m going to be short of life goals. I"m sure there will be something to fill the void. I still need to start a company that puts my compeditors and *former* employeers out of business. It shouldn"t be that hard to put the former employeers out of business, they tend to go backrupt without any influence on my behalf.
*One note about travelling: Most people told me to go to University, graduate and get a job so I could have a house and perhaps do some travelling when I retire. I really can"t agree with this way of thinking. Besides, now I have a sweet job that I"ve wanted since I was 13 and I get to see everywhere too. I"m so glad I didn"t fall victim to the university propaganda. Look at it this way: when your 18 and out of high school, you have shit all for a career going and a few years probably won"t make a difference.
