28 Hours in Holland 16th March 2003 in Amsterdam, Netherlands

Saturday Morning:

8:09am: Wake up, think to self: "I want to go to Amsterdam"
8:10am: Woke Anja up, "Hey Anja, do you want to go to Holland?"
Anja: "ok"
8:15am: Hostels.com, find a hostel, ring them, they"re full. Call another hostel, they tell me to call back at 9am when reception is in.
8:25am: Find maps of Amsterdam and build a route map from Bremen to Amsterdam, print them out
9:01am: Make reservation with hostel in red light district thinking "Hey, I was in Kings Cross in Sydney and nothing bad happened".
10:00am: Packed and ready we left the house.
02:00pm: Arrive in Amsterdam and wondered to the hostel.

Total Conception, Planning, Preperation time required for journying to another country: 2 hours.

Amsterdam is a dirty place, loads of bald English "lads walking around the red light district. The place was 10x"s more dirty than I imagined. There was a lot of old right next to brand new and modern. I think this country makes a mint off of tourist and import / export. I read an interesting article in the paper about a man the smuggles 6 metric tonnes of hash into Holland every week from Morroco.

Here are some pics.
