A visit to the letting agency, rearranging the office, speaking english and being paid in pounds 24th October 2001 in Exeter, United Kingdom

Freda and I went to the letting (renting) agency during my lunch half-hour. They need a reference from my bank so I had to run to HSBC too. Once we hand in our references it will take around a week or two to get through all of them. Tomorrow I will drop off all the paperwork. So I should be in the house sometime in mid-November. I really want my own house and my privacy back. All the Australians do at my hostel is bitch, wine and argue about everything.

We re-arranged all the desks at work and my desk was right at the window between the tech pit and the main hallway. It took about 15 minutes of everyone walking by and looking at my PC before I moved everything into the corning so that I'm surrounded by PC's and no one can see my screen. All I need now is a few more PC's, a rack of routers, a small hosting facility and blinking christmas lights to make my setup look really technical and hackerish.

I got a compliment letter from Francis Chichester (pronounced francis-chi-chi-chi-chester) thanking me for fixing there internet. They refuse to communicate in any form except for fax. Makes support very interesting. I put the letter on the wall next to my other compliment letter for fixing someone's e-mail.

I get paid on Friday. I really like getting paid in Great British Pounds. As well, Work is taking us out for free beer and food. Not sure who I'm going to take with me.
