Back in Germany, Paper Trading and Xmas Presents 25th December 2004 in Flensburg, Germany

Anja and I flew to Germany yesterday. We flew out of Heathrow which is much nicer than the other airports around London. We also scored some free Heathrow Express tickets from my flatmate which made the trip really quick and relaxing. It's nice to be back here. It's much nicer to be on holiday than to be working in Germany :-)

Germans celebrate xmas on the 24th so we arrived just in time for a really tasty dinner and gift-opening session. I got €100 for mediamarkt (germany's version of future shop), a painting and a 512MB USB Keychain. I bought some books and language cdroms from Amazon with my gift voucher that I got from work and I picked up a copy of Bourne Identity from the duty free at Heathrow, I never thought I would buy a DVD I wanted for £4.

I checked up on my paper trading today and saw I turned a profit for the first time since I started a few weeks back. One of my picks shot up 23% yesterday giving me a £350 profit. I need to look into the methodology that I used to pick that stock and see if I can replicate it.

I learned that brokerage fees really hold you back when It comes to quick profits and often you need to wait weeks to break even even when you've bought on a low. 2005 will be the year I research more exotic forms of investment. I'll probably not get my feet wet until I've saved up enough that I wouldn't worry if I lost all of my principle which means that I'll be 23 for I own anything.

If your wondering why there are so many spelling mistakes in this blogg, it's because there isn't an english version of word on Malte's PC.
