Saying good bye to Stockholm 2nd January 2003 in Stockholm, Sweden

Today I talked with a nice Austrian girl during breakfast. That has to be what makes the backpacking lifestyle so addictive, the fact that you meet really cool people almost everyday. Most have traveled quite some distance so they have been educated throughout their experiences and have drive to do things in life.

Eventually we had to say good bye to everyone. Anja and I went and dropped off our bags at a locker at the bus station and we went for a walk around Stockholm for the remainder of time left. At one point we went to an Internet cafe and I went to check my mail. My mother had sent me a letter saying my Step-Dad had had a heart attack and was in the hospital. Later that evening I called her on the bus ride back to Tucksfors and she told me he was ok and that there wasn't any serious heart damage. He should be home by the time I get home.

By the time I got back to Tucksfors I was feeling sick so went straight to bed.
