Exploring Oslo

Oslo, Norway

This morning I woke up around 8am, which is bloody early for being on holidays. I had a shower and a quick bite to eat before Anja and I headed over to her parents cabin. We waited there for about 20 minutes for them to get ready and then we drove for 2 hours to Oslo. When we got there we first went to find Anja's father a boat ticket back to Germany because he needed to work over the new year. We went to ColorLines. There was Engrish EVERYWHERE!! "Please to watch the bag", "Please have a number to your turn", ect... Ruedi went up to the ticket girl and said "Ticket Keil fuer Dezember dreizig", the woman replied in a Canadian accent (All Norwegians whom speak English tend to do so with a Canadian accent) "You want to go Today?", "Nein, Dezember Dreizig", "Ney, D-r-e-i-z-i-g Dez-em-ber". Thats when I came in and started translating between them. The ticket ended up being about 164 Euro which was a lot more than other alternatives so Ruedi decided to drive instead.

Afterward Anja and I went into town and walked around and had a bite to eat. The city was really beautiful and stylish; the only problem was that it was extremely expensive. Anja and I considered staying until New Years but there aren't any Hostels open this time of year and the price of a hotel would be a bit much for me with my up coming trip back to Canada in January. After doing some shopping and exploring we headed back to Tucksfors for a quite evening. My boss and I ended up chugging back on the bottle of Scotch I got from Christmas and ranting about work until 2 in the morning. Around 3am I was awoken by Anja whom said she saw an Elk outside our window, the window is only one pane and the drape is a 50% transparent so you can see in and out very easily. Being that there are Elk tracks all around here I thought she was right. I went and got Rainer and he got me the sony handycam with night vision. Then Rainer went outside to see if he could get a close look but there wasn't anything there.
