Moving in, Candy, Under-achieving co-workers and littering at McDonalds 7th November 2001 in Exeter, United Kingdom

We move into our place on Thursday evening.

Yesterday I bought a bag of candy. The brand name of the candy was ?halfpounders?, which to me means 50 pence but Sue thought that is we in reference to the weight of the bag. I thought that because it was called ?halfpounders? that the price of the candy once was 50 pence and I had paid 85 pence for them, hence thinking I"m getting ripped off. Sue said that the weight of the bag (approx. 225g) was about a half a pound. I disagreed but after further calculation I was proved wrong. She further rubbed it in by saying she had a math degree. I then reminded her that I have a sub-standard high school diploma and we both have the same job at the same salary.

Last night the Danish girls and I went to McDonalds. The cashier has orange juice all over her back. The 3 girls had Sundays and there were hairs in them. They took them back and got new ones. Right before they were about to eat their Sundays I saw there was jelly on the back of a couple of spoons as if they had been used already. We made sure to leave all our garbage at the table and ensured the Sundays were dripping onto the table and the floor as well. I think that is (really this time) the last time I eat at McDonalds. Call me ignorant but it felt so goooooooood to have my small piece of revenge on McDick"s.

Feeling much better today, only one more night at the hostel.
