Exploring Barcelona 2nd February 2002 in Barcelona, Spain

This evening Tanya and I were set out to find some "Spanish" food. Eating local food so far in Europe has been a let down except for a few exceptions. So we went to Pizza Hut. My Spanish has been getting pretty good since I got here, I can comprehend most signs and descriptions of the TV Channels as I flick through them (all of the 260 TV Channels are in Spainish or have subtitles). Anyway, I was prepared to read from the menu and order everything in Spanish. The menu was completely in English and the waiters English was impecable. If it wasn´t for the food tasting soo good and beign sooo cheap I would of felt let down.

After that we came back to the backpackers. Tanya wasn´t feeling to well after busting up her knee whilst we were climbing the mountain to the castle today, so she ended up going to sleep around 9:30. I decided to walk up and down La Rambla, there were heaps of Side shows, Taroe (I can´t remember how to spell it) card readings and music acts. One had a puppeteer controlling a frog playing the piano. Another was of a mime whom put himself into a bin face down and moved him legs everytime someone put coins in a plate.

Afterword I came back and watched a little Spanish TV. Seeing Alf in Spanish has to be one of the most messed up things I have ever seen in my life. He sounded like a desperate Mexican trying to persuande border patrol to look the other way.

There are two sights left I haven´t seen so far, I´m pretty sure I´m just going to go there, take a few photos and that will be the end of it. If you had a scooter and knew where to go, you could see all the sights of Barcelona in one weekend.

Sorry for all the spelling and grammer mistakes, the beer machine next to the computer is acting up and its hard to consentrate with such a load motor noise in the background.
